I am asking 24 people to contribute $24 to my Virtual Food Drive to provide 24 families with groceries.
FAMILIES URGENTLY NEED FOOD TODAY
Hunger is rapidly rising in the Piedmont Triad, and more families are turning to Out of the Garden Project (OOTGP) for help every day. SNAP benefits weren't enough to get families facing food insecurity through the month — and now many of our neighbors have no access to food.
OOTGP is responding by delivering even more hunger relief to Greensboro, High Point, and Winston-Salem, and we need your support to ensure everyone who comes to us for food assistance will leave with groceries. We serve more than 15,000 community members each month; In November, we expect that number to double.
Hunger does not wait for paperwork or policy. Everyone deserves to eat every day. You can make that possible — today.
WHAT IS FEEDING FORWARD?
Feeding Forward is OOTGP’s Virtual Food Drive and community movement to raise vital funds quickly so families experiencing hunger can receive the fresh food they need.
Instead of collecting canned goods, contributors can directly donate to cover the cost of fresh groceries distributed to recipients at OOTGP's Fresh Mobile Markets. Your gift goes directly to feeding a local family.
$24 provides a local household with 55 lb of fresh produce, meat, dairy, deli, and shelf-stable pantry items. The value of these groceries is $150 and the family receives them for free. With a donation of only $24, OOTGP can provide enough food to sustain a family of 4 for about a week.
