Out of the Garden Project began in 2008 around a kitchen table with a simple but powerful belief: no child should go hungry. What started as weekend food support for a handful of students has grown into the largest independent nonprofit food assistance organization of its kind in the Piedmont Triad - serving tens of thousands of children, families, and seniors each year.
Hunger is not just the absence of food, it is a barrier to learning, health, and stability. When families lack access to fresh, nourishing food, children struggle to grow and thrive. Your support helps remove those barriers with care, dignity, and consistency.
Through six interconnected programs, thousands of volunteers, and millions of meals distributed, we see every day what’s possible when a community comes together to care for one another. This work is ongoing, and the need continues to grow.
