Out of the Garden Project was started in 2008 around a kitchen table with the hope to supply six to ten families with food for the weekend at a local school. Now 14 years later, Out of the Garden Project is the largest independent nonprofit organization of its kind in the Piedmont Triad NC area, serving over 47,000 children and families. This is all thanks to you that we can change what we believe is the largest global epidemic: chronic hunger.
Hunger robs children of their ability to grow, learn and thrive. It makes learning more difficult and their futures more precarious. With supporters like you, children now have a chance for a better life.
Out of the Garden Project is a story of miracles, where a community can come together and give more than we thought was possible. With six programs, 9,000 volunteers, and over 19.5 million meals distributed thus far, we are still not done.
